Cascadia Community College is committed to ensuring that it maintains its technology-forward foothold. The computers on the campus, originally installed in the fall of 2000, are on a staggered three-year replacement schedule, which is partially funded by a student-approved technology fee. The operating systems and core applications are upgraded on a regular basis to keep students up to date with the software the business world is using and the software their instructors use to enhance their learning experience.
Cascadia students have access to Dell Optiplex 740, Dell Optiplex 620 and Dell Optiplex 280 computers throughout the college. With the 280’s single core 3.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, a 128MB graphics card and the 740 and 620’s Dual Core 2.6GHz+ processors, 2GB of RAM and 256MB graphics cards, Cascadia students have more than enough processing power to aid them with any technology focused degree.

Open Learning Center
The Open Learning Center (OLC), located on the lower level of the Cascadia building, provides access to computers for instructional support. The OLC is staffed by a supervisor, part time employees, work study employees and volunteers.
The Open Learning Center houses 46 Internet-connected computers, which are accessible for student use. These computers are configured with Windows XP Pro and Office 2007. In addition to Office 2007, Web design and programming applications that mirror those used in the classroom are also installed on these computers. The OLC also has one color printer, four black and white printers, two scanning stations and a copying station for student use.
The Open Learning Center also manages student access to Cascadia's network. The staff assists new students as well as returning students with all of their network-related needs. The OLC also creates student ID cards on a system that integrates identification and library card services.
Within the Open Learning Center, you will also find the college's Math and Writing lab, where students can work with tutors to better their math and writing skills. The Math and Writing lab is outfitted with 10 computers reserved for their use. They also have a TV/VCR available for viewing educational materials.
