Conditions Of Award
- I understand that any aid offered is for a full-time course load (12
credits) unless otherwise specified on the award letter. I agree that if I
withdraw or cease to attend or carry the required number of credits, I will
notify the Student Financial Services office and, if necessary, arrange for
the repayment of aid advanced to me for which I am no longer eligible.
- I understand that I am required to attend classes to earn financial aid.
If I withdraw from classes during the quarter or do not earn any credits, I
may be required to repay all or part of my aid received.
- I understand that I must make satisfactory academic progress to receive
Financial Aid. Financial Aid may be canceled for failure to make
satisfactory progress. This means that I must complete my degree
within an established time frame, maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point
average (2.0), and successfully complete the minimum number of credits each
quarter for which aid is received. I understand that I am responsible
for knowing the information contained in the Satisfactory Academic Progress
Policy (enclosed with award letters).
- I understand that the offer of aid is dependent upon federal and state
allocations to the college. Insufficient funds may result in a reduction in
the amount of aid or a change in the type of aid offered to me.
- I must enroll in an eligible program of study and the classes I take
must be required for that program. **If you intend to transfer to
another school, it is recommended that you take any prerequisite requirement
courses as electives in your first year of attendance.
- I understand that the award is based on information I have provided
about my financial status. I agree to report to the Student Financial
Services office any changes in my financial situation, including, but mot
limited to: changes in marital status, address, Washington State
residency status, any additional income, scholarships or other funds I may
receive after returning the award letter. I understand that these
changes may result in a reduction of awards and/or require repayments of aid
already received.
- Students receiving financial aid can pursue only one program of study at
a time.
- I understand that Cascadia reserves the right to request and review
transcripts from any prior college before making my award.
- I certify and agree that I will comply with the additional conditions
listed below if I am awarded and receive a STATE NEED Grant:
- I am a resident of the State of Washington, in accordance with the RCW
28B.15.011-013;
- I am registered at Cascadia Community College as at least a half-time
undergraduate student and am making satisfactory progress toward completion
of my degree or program objective;
- I do not owe a refund or repayment on a State Need Grant, a Federal Pell
Grant, or a Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, nor am I in
default on a loan under the Federal Perkins Student Loan, National Direct
Student Loan, Federal Family Educational Loan programs, or William D. Ford
Federal Loan programs.
- I understand that when I am able, I can voluntarily make financial
contributions to the Higher Education Coordinating Board in recognition of
the STATE NEED GRANT, and that these gifts will be used to provide financial
assistance to other students.
- I understand that STATE NEED GRANT awards are limited to a maximum of 15
full-time quarters of eligibility. Students may only receive the STATE
NEED GRANT at Cascadia Community College if they have not received a
Bachelor's degree, and/or if 5 years have elapsed since receiving an
Associate's degree in which STATE NEED GRANT funds were awarded for the
degree. In either case, students must be within 125%
of the standard length of their enrolled program to remain eligible for
STATE NEED GRANT.
If I deliberately falsify, misrepresent, or fail to
fully disclose information on my financial aid application, I can be terminated
from financial aid. If I receive funds based on misrepresented
information, I will be required to repay the funds and may be reported to the US
Department of Education for possible fraud.
