Meet the Staff

Advising provides students with the necessary information to make sound academic decisions and educational plans. Advisors assist students with information about admissions and graduation requirements, course placement and selection, and transcript evaluation. Through advising, students make the connection between academic interests, degree requirements and career opportunities. As students progress into subsequent quarters, advisors are available to assist with long-term educational planning and the transfer process.

Student responsibilities in the advising process include:

• Attend the Student Orientation/Advising/Registration (SOAR) session prior to first quarter of classes at Cascadia.
• Obtain and read the Cascadia Community College catalog, the Student Handbook, and quarterly schedule
• Develop an Educational Plan with the assistance of an advisor to outline quarter-by-quarter course requirements to meet your educational goals.
• Submit Official Transcripts from other colleges attended.  Submit high school transcripts if a recent graduate (within five years).
• Ask questions and keep track of your own academic progress.
