Vacation and Sick Leave

Annual Vacation Leave

(Pro-rated for employees working less than 100%)

Classified

    During 1st year

    12 days = 8.00 hrs/mo

    During 2nd year

    13 days = 8.67 hrs/mo

    During 3rd & 4th years

    14 days = 9.33 hrs/mo

    During 5th, 6th, 7th years

    15 days = 10.00 hrs/mo

    During 8th, 9th, 10th year

    16 days = 10.67 hrs/mo

    During 11th year

    17 days = 11.33 hrs/mo

    During 12th year

    18 days = 12.00 hrs/mo

    During 13th year

    19 days = 12.67 hrs/mo

    During 14th year

    20 days = 13.33 hrs/mo

    During 15th year

    21 days = 14.00 hrs/mo

    During 16th year & thereafter

    22 days = 14.67 hrs/mo



    Personal Leave
    Pro-rated for employees working less than 100%
    A Classified Employee may choose one workday as a personal leave day, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Exempt

Vacation leave accrues for full-time employees at a rate of 16 hours per month. Vacation leave can be used after it is accrued. A maximum of 30 working days (240 hours) may be accumulated.

Annual Sick Leave  Pro-rated for employees working less than 100%:

Sick leave accrues for full-time employees at a rate of 8 hours per month. Sick leave can be used after it is accrued. There is no maximum balance, however, once a year there is a cash-out option for those employees with a balance exceeding 480 hours. An employee may elect to cash-out those hours earned in the preceding year, but not used, at a 25% value.

Annual Personal Holiday  Pro-rated for employees working less than 100%:

One personal holiday per year is accrued upon the completion of the first four months of continuous service. The holiday must be used between January and December of each year.
