Here are some frequently asked questions and answers about the employment application process.  If you have additional questions, please contact the Human Resources/Payroll Office.

    We can accept application materials in the following methods:

  3. May I submit my resume instead of an application?
    We will not accept a resume in lieu of a completed application form.  Be sure to check the recruitment notice for a list of the required application materials.  Please note that we do not keep resumes on file for potential openings.

  4. Can I fax in my application materials?
    We do no accept application materials by fax. We can accept them by email, mail or in person by the close date.

  5. Do you accept postmarked materials as being on time?
    We do not accept postmarked materials as being on time. We can accept them by email, mail or in person by the close date.

  6. What are the office hours of the Human Resources/Payroll Office?
    The Human Resources/Payroll Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. We are also closed on holidays or other campus related events observed by Cascadia Community College.  Please note that summer office hours may vary.  Feel free to contact us at 425.352.8880 if you need to verify the current office hours.

  7. Do I need official transcripts to be sent with my application materials?
    If the recruitment notice requires transcripts, they can be unofficial copies during the application phase. If you are hired, then official copies would need to be sent directly to the Human Resources/Payroll Office.

  8. How will I know if Im selected for an interview?
    HR will review all completed applications that are submitted by the close date to see if the applicant meets the minimum qualifications. If you applied for an exempt or faculty position, a hiring/screening committee will review your materials further. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted. If you applied for a classified position, you will be contacted for an interview if you are in the top group of applicants.  If you are not contacted within 30 days of the close date, please check our website for other employment opportunities.

  9. I want to include a cover letter with my application materials. To whom should I address the cover letter?
    We have a collaborative hiring process, so our interviews are conducted by selection/hiring committees instead of by a single person. It is perfectly acceptable for you to address your cover letter Dear Selection Committee or Dear Hiring Committee.

  10. If I submit only part of my application materials by the close date, can I submit the rest later?
    As stated on the recruitment notice, all application materials need to be submitted by the close date. Please double check your materials to make sure that you submit all the required materials by the close date since incomplete and/or late application materials will not be considered.

  11. I previously submitted an employment application and now I want to apply for a different position.  Can I have my previous materials forwarded to the new position?
    Please contact the Human Resources/Payroll Office to see if we can accommodate your request. We can be reached via email at applicant@cascadia.edu or by calling 425.352.8880.

  12. How long do you keep application materials?
    We usually keep application materials on file for 6 months.  If you have questions about your specific materials, please contact the Human Resources/Payroll Office at applicant@cascadia.edu or 425.352.8880.
