BOTHELL RESIDENT NAMED AS CASCADIA TRUSTEE
BOTHELL — Bothell resident, Boeing machinist union member, Eagle and American Legion member Roy Wilkinson has been appointed as a trustee for Cascadia Community College by Gov. Gary Locke.
Wilkinson has worked for Boeing since 1977 after serving four years in the US Navy. In his time at Boeing, he has worked as a program partner for a quality through training program (QTTP), as a research electro-mechanical technician and as an aircraft functional test technician. Over the past 25 years, Wilkinson has been an active member of the International Association of Machinists District 751-E. He has served as a trustee, vice president, and is currently legislative chair for his local, and a delegate to the King County and Washington State Labor Councils.
Wilkinson is an active community member, having served as vice president currently is president of the Bothell Eagles, as a 20 year member of the American Legion and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is the current vice chair for the 1st District democrats.
“It is a true honor to be appointed trustee of Cascadia Community College,” Wilkinson said. “As an active resident of Bothell, I have watched this institution grow and become a wonderful asset to our community. I am eager to help it continue its success for future students.”
Wilkinson’s term will run through Sept. 30, 2008.
“I am excited about the news of Roy Wilkinson’s appointment,” said Dr. Brinton Sprague, interim president for Cascadia Community College. “His connection to the Bothell community will be a great asset to our board of trustees.”
