DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAM CREATING NEW PATHWAYS FOR STUDENTS AT CASCADIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Bothell, WA - Cascadia Community College and the University of Washington, Bothell are accepting applications for their Dual Enrollment program. Eligible Cascadia students can apply to be admitted to the University of Washington, Bothell in one of three programs: Business, Computing and Software Systems, and Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences.
“Dual Enrollment is an excellent way for students to earn their associate’s and bachelor’s degrees in the most efficient and affordable way,” said Ana Blackstad, Director for Educational Support Services at Cascadia Community College. “Many students have expressed an interest in this program and we anticipate that it will be a success for them and for the colleges.”
Dual Enrollment will provide Cascadia students with the opportunity to begin taking upper division classes in their majors while completing an associate’s degree at Cascadia. Students who have earned 45 credits at Cascadia Community College are eligible to apply. Admitted students become official students at both the community college and the University of Washington, Bothell starting their sophomore year. Students complete their associate’s degree requirements while taking upper level courses at UW, Bothell.
Dual Enrollment students can:
- earn early credits towards a UW degree
- utilize services at both colleges, including career services and the library
- combine credits to achieve full-time status for financial aid and GI Bill benefits
