CASCADIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES ANNOUNCES FINALISTS IN PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH

Bothell, WA - Cascadia Community College Board of Trustees, at a special meeting on March 25, 2005, announced the selection of three finalists for consideration to fill the position of president of Cascadia.

The names of candidates who will be considered are:

• Dr. William Christopher, Campus President of Rock Creek, Portland Community College, Portland, OR
• Dr. James Sorensen, President of Treasure Valley Community College, Ontario, OR
• Dr. Marsal Stoll, Vice President for Instruction and Student Services of Piedmont Virginia Community College, Charlottesville, VA

These finalists were selected from a larger group of candidates interviewed by the Cascadia Community College Presidential Search Committee and recommended to the Board of Trustees.

The candidates will be interviewed by members of the Cascadia Community College Board of Trustees April 13 - 15, 2005. Students, employees, and community members will have an opportunity to meet the candidates during open forums to be held on campus.

Applicants submitted materials by February 25, 2005, and a Presidential Search Committee conducted preliminary interviews with nine candidates during the week of March 21. The Board of Trustees acted in response to the recommendations of the Search Committee. The Board plans to name a president at the conclusion of the process. Dr. Brinton Sprague is currently serving as Interim President of the college.
