The President’s Lifelong Learning Award was established by the college in 2004 to recognize outstanding employees for continued intellectual and professional growth. The $1500.00 award that accompanies the selection is intended to be used for professional development costs.

The 2005-06 committee of college employees reviewed nominations and forwarded their recommendations to the president. The committee emphasized the wide range of skills and interests of Ms. Thompson, including her membership on a recreational hockey team.

Ms. Thompson, according to colleagues, is “A leader in a wide range of capacities. A member of many professional organizations. A valued team member, a mentor of fellow faculty members, a published writer, a true life-long learner, and a hockey player.”
