Cascadia Community College Students Selected for All-Washington Academic Team
Bothell, WA - Cascadia Community College students Deborah Kewa and Mike Mirgon have been selected to represent the college at the annual statewide All-Washington Academic Team Award Ceremony. The ceremony is held annually at the South Puget Sound Community College campus in Olympia.
"Deborah and Mike exemplify the diverse backgrounds and global interests of our students," said Dr. William Christopher, president of Cascadia Community College. "Deborah was born in Nigeria, graduated from Woodinville High School, and was elected vice-president of the student body. Mike is a graduate of Everett High School and currently serves as the president of Cascadia’s student government."
Selections to the All-Washington Academic Team include academic standing and student involvement. Ms. Kewa’s grade point average (GPA) is 3.44 and her goal is a degree in International Business. Mr. Mirgon’s GPA is 3.25 and his major is Communications/English.
Annually, community and technical colleges in Washington nominate students from each institution to join the All-Washington Academic Team. Students receive recognition for academic excellence and scholarships from sponsoring organizations.
